Solar radiation is converted into heat by means of the Apricus Solar Collector.
When the collector is hotter than the pre-heat tank, the heat is moved from the collector to the pre-heat tank by means of an environmentally friendly anti-freeze that is pumped up to the roof and back.
Cold water entering the house is first heated through the solar pre-heat tank and then is topped off by the existing hot water tank or tankless unit if not already up to temperature.
